Not all Nebbiolo grapes become Barolo or Barbaresco. Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is the “second wine” of Piedmont’s Barolo and Barbaresco and it is made with at least 85% of Nebbiolo grapes. On good vintages, the appellation Langhe Nebbiolo DOC is a great place to hunt for values and for enjoying an early-drinking wine made of Nebbiolo.

Six months spent in wood define the character of this wine bringing structure without undermining its freshness. The wine displays on the nose a fruity bouquet with floral scents of rose and violet. The palate is fine and fruity and the soft tannins make this wine a viable option to open now.

Beautifully presented in a magnum sized wooden gift box. The size of the bottle allows the wine to mature more slowly, making an even more complex, more delicious wine in the glass.

Cascina Ballarin

The Langhe sub-region in Piemonte has much in common with Burgundy. It is not only the continental climate that it shares with the French region, both regions are also family estates' and vignerons' world. Cascina Ballarin is a small, family-owned estate located in La Morra in the heart of the Langhe sub-region that has been in the hands of the Viberti family since 1928. The estate is currently managed by two brothers, Giorgio and Giovanni Viberti, who oversee vineyards of indigenous varieties including Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The vineyards are mainly located in the villages of La Morra and Monforte d’Alba and the estate includes holdings in the geographic designations or crus of Bussia and Bricco Rocca.
