Barolo Tre Ciabot 2015 Magnum, Cascina Ballarin

Nebbiolo is the grape behind Barolo and Barbaresco wines and it is almost exclusively planted in Piedmont. This Barolo from Cascina Ballarin is made from Nebbiolo grapes harvested from three different vineyards in La Morra, Monforte d’Alba and Novello.

The 2015 was an exceptional vintage in Barolo. 2015 Barolos are balanced with excellent tannins and great acidity which makes them well suited for a long aging of up to 20 years or more. The accessibility and ripeness of the tannins, however, let this Barolo be enjoyed also when young.

Rich and elegant floral bouquet of rose and violet. On the palate it is imperious, powerful, elegant, smooth and mouth-filling.

Beautifully presented in a magnum sized wooden gift box. The size of the bottle allows the wine to mature more slowly, making an even more complex, more delicious wine in the glass.

The Langhe sub-region in Piemonte has much in common with Burgundy. It is not only the continental climate that it shares with the French region, both regions are also family estates' and vignerons' world. Cascina Ballarin is a small, family-owned estate located in La Morra in the heart of the Langhe sub-region that has been in the hands of the Viberti family since 1928. The estate is currently managed by two brothers, Giorgio and Giovanni Viberti, who oversee vineyards of indigenous varieties including Nebbiolo, Barbera and Dolcetto. The vineyards are mainly located in the villages of La Morra and Monforte d’Alba and the estate includes holdings in the geographic designations or crus of Bussia and Bricco Rocca.
